Chef John Hui Stars at Philippine Bakery Association Gala

The Filipino Chinese Bakers Association celebrated its 50th Anniversary this October.  USHBC and Chef John Hui of the Lodge at Pebble Beach California dazzled the audience of 500 bakery owners with his blueberry baking and confectionery skills.

The Philippines has always been a good market for blueberry fillings, and chef John challenged the industry to take it one more step and to utilize frozen and dried blueberries in signature bakery and pastry items.   This was a big event and as you will see from the photos — blueberries were a hit!
